We’re now accepting late applications and we urge recent students and current WIT students to get in touch with us as soon as possible,” said Ciarán Cullen, Manager of ArcLabs, WIT’s innovation hub.

Over the summer Arc Academy participants will benefit from free:

  • Incubation in a co-working environment in ArcLabs until September 1st
  • Enterprise Workshops (two per week)
  • Enterprise Development Mentoring
  • Technology Development Mentoring (ICT & Engineering)
  • Enterprise Management Buddy
  • Entrepreneur encounter workshops
  • Access to Local Enterprise Office, Enterprise Ireland and South East BIC advisers
  • Support to apply for relevant enterprise funding and the Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur programme and New Frontiers where appropriate.

“This follows the success of a one-day bootcamp which gave students an overview of Creative Innovation; Defining the Problem to be solved and Vision for the Future; Protecting your idea; Constructing a Persona; Business Model Canvass to help the participants to identify their Market and Key features.”

Following the bootcamp event Dr Cordula Hansen, Programme Leader BA(Hons) Design Visual Communications and Director and Founder, WIT Research Group for Design and Social Innovation (DASI) said:

"We are delighted that students from such diverse disciplines are taking part in this event. Especially in the start-up space, we see the importance of communication and mutual respect between technologists, designers, salespeople and managers. From listening to the students' business ideas and conversations, I think they are clearly aware that they will need to collaborate with others. In order to build on their creativity and enthusiasm, connections are vital, and events such as these provide a really important networking environment for students."
