Bank of Ireland is holding a series of ‘Prepare for Brexit’ events across the country, during September and October, to help ensure that businesses are Brexit-ready.

At the events, we’ll run through the potential implications of Brexit on business and encourage you to plan a business analysis session using a Brexit Diagnostic Tool.

Each event consists of four core elements:

  • An industry body or umbrella group describing a range of Brexit outcomes and the issues they and their members are facing;

  • An accountancy firm outlining how best to use a Brexit Diagnostic Tool and customer experience to date;

  • A business talking about how they used the Tool, the lessons learned, mitigating actions taken and the benefits of preparation and planning in an uncertain environment;

  • A Bank of Ireland spokesperson highlighting the findings from Bank research while emphasising the potential business opportunities created by Brexit;

The course is also suitable for those interested in delivering Level 1 Food Safety Training.

Tower Chef

The Tower Hotel and Leisure Centre are delighted to announce that Shanta Ranasinghe is now the Head Chef at the hotel.

The award winning chef Shanta Ranasinghe is a native of Sri Lanka and has over 30 years of cooking experience. He trained in the Hilton International in Sri Lanka and has spent more than 15 years in the Middle East, working in 5 star hotels such as the Dubai Grand Hotel and the Forte Grand of Dubai. Shanta has also catered for the royal family of Dubai!

Shanta is no stranger to Irish cuisine – he has previously worked in the Talbot Hotel and in Sqigl Restaurant in Wexford. His seafood dishes were a big hit with the locals. Paulo Tullio formerly of the Independent was also a big fan of Shanta’s cooking!  

Shanta especially likes fusion cuisine and his favourite dishes to cook are sushi, curries, and stir fries. When Shanta is not busy cooking, he’s off cycling. You might run into him on the Greenway or cycling the beautiful countryside of Wexford and Waterford.

Shanta is delighted to be part of the Team at the Tower Hotel and is looking forward to bringing his culinary expertise to Waterford and to cooking for the people of Waterford and all the guests both local and international at the Tower Hotel.

Recognised as one of the foremost experts in the field,  Ita lectures in Ergonomics in UCD and is a regular speaker on the subject at conferences and seminars. For over 25 years, Ita has been providing ergonomic consultancy and practical solutions to clients in Ireland, Europe and the US.
