All employers including the self-employed must have a Safety Statement relating to their workplace and work activities. Too often HSA Inspectors come across generic Safety Statements that are prepared by someone with no real understanding of the activities undertaken in the workplace. LCE can help you!

The Safety Statement must be reviewed and, if necessary, amended as required. This should be done on an annual basis or more frequently if for example your business changes and your employees are exposed to new hazards e.g. the introduction of new machinery or new work practices

The Safety Statement must be brought to the attention of the employees and to any other persons at the place of work who might be exposed to the specific risks outlined in the document. When bringing the Safety Statement to the attention of employees, it must be in a form, manner and, if necessary, a language that can be understood by employees.

The HSA have a great free Safety Statement development on line tool - called BeSmart  - we would recommend the use of this tool. However, if you don't feel confident to complete the Safety Statement using this tool or if require competent advise on Safety Statement preparation or revision for 2018 - contact us today for a quote on 051 364344 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. GROW HQ is the home of the GIY movement and our brand spanking new food education centre in Waterford City.

It is the home of GIY-land, the mothership and a place of joy, healing and GREAT food that embodies all things GIY.

Set on 4 acres in Waterford City, we’re just across the road from University Hospital Waterford at Ardkeen. It’s sort of the last place you’d expect to find people growing food, but that’s why we love it so much.

Our stunning eco-building with it’s distinctive green roof was designed by Solearth Architecture to remove the barriers between where food is grown, cooked and eaten. Our cafe looks out on the kitchen garden and vice versa.

Waterford Music Marian Ingoldsby

Irish composer Marian Ingoldsby will step into the limelight at The Large Room, City Hall, Waterford on Thursday, 7th December at 7.30pm to present a solo show featuring music that provided significant signposts to her journey in music.

Works by Albeniz, Chopin, Schumann, O' Carolan and Mompou will feature, as well as some of Ingoldsby's own piano compositions including Moving Hearts. Admission €15 Students €5

Ingoldsby, a Carrick-on-Suir native, has been much in demand with commissions from many ensembles and choral groups over the last thirty years since she won the Fleischmann Prize in 1995. Such commissions include a chamber opera called Hot Food with Strangers, which was premiered by Opera Theatre Company in 1991, and a children’s opera Lily’s Labyrinth for RTE Lyric FM, while much of her instrumental work has been commissioned by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra and the Dublin International Piano Competition.

Highly regarded for her facility with texts, her setting of Michael Coady’s poem, The Great Embrace was specially commissioned by Waterford-Music to mark the 75th anniversary of their chamber music series this year. A setting of W.B Yeats' Never Give All the Heart premiered by baritone Benjamin Appl was described by the Irish Times as the highlight of the recital by the young German star.

Ingoldsby combines her composing activities with her teaching at the Department of Creative and Performing Arts at Waterford Institute of Technology and is a much sought after accompanist.
