The Mediation Act 2017 – What does it mean for you?

As part of Mediation Awareness Week www.mediationawarenessweek.ie Dr Sinead Conneely, Law lecturer at W.I.T. and Dr Roisin O’Shea, partner in Arc Mediation, will present an over-view of the Mediation Act 2017, signed into law by the President on October 2nd 2017.

Dr O’Shea is a former Irish Research Council Scholar, who published her PhD in 2014. She is currently a senior partner in Arc Mediation www.arcmedlaw.com and is an expert in family law and employment law, with significant experience as a mediator completing hundreds of cases since 2009 including family, workplace and commercial mediations.

Dr’s Conneely and O’Shea, as researchers on The Family Mediation Project W.I.T.,were invited by the Department of Justice to contribute to the development of this new law, and welcome the beginning of the regulation of the profession of mediation in Ireland.
